“ace” up our sleeve.

For the 8th consecutive year, A/LA has participated in the ACE Mentor Program of Eastern Pennsylvania, a program which provides throughout the school year volunteer mentors to local high school students and hosting bi-monthly team meetings.

This year the student team consisted of 17 juniors from the Thomas, Lenfest, & Shoemaker campuses of the Mastery Charter Schools, and from Constitution High School.  A/LA partnered with C.B. Development Services and Turner Construction to create the definitive multidisciplinary mentor team.

This year’s project was a theoretical mixed-use student housing complex for the University of Pennsylvania, located at 34th & Chestnut Streets in University City.

Last week, A/LA’s Alex Chan, Kira Broecker, and Anastasios Sioukas, the students and the other mentors, made their final presentation to the other 6 teams, parents, teachers, and mentors at the School District of Philadelphia at 440 North Broad Street.

Congratulations to the students on their project and their accomplishments this year!
