Metrofit at the Metropolitan

This project involved the renovation of existing space on the second and third floors of The Metropolitan Apartments into an extensive new fitness center for residents. The 26-story Art Deco building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in the late 1920’s and previously served as a YMCA. The old, dilapidated basketball court was carefully refurbished in a way that evokes the past, while the former squash court was completely modernized into a state-of-the art exercise room. The facility also includes restrooms and other support spaces, as well as a dog wash room.
