The Haverford Middle School

Havertown, PA

The Haverford Middle School is a large three-story building housing 6th-8th grades with approximately 1,400 students. The building was originally constructed as two separate stone structures in 1922 and 1926. There had been several additions and renovations from 1938 to 1974, when the two building were joined. The project consists of full renovation for all existing spaces (classrooms, athletic facilities, auditorium, library, etc.). Several discrete additions are proposed that would expand the “community” and academic functions of the Middle School while being sensitive to the historic quality of the building and its presence in the Havertown community.
