Northern Liberties, Philadelphia 11 May 2006 4/4 3. Lower section massing (175’) The original proposal for the Bridgman’s View Tower consisted of a substantial base, housing three levels of retail, two levels of commercial office space and a ten-story automated garage, for a total height of 175’. By relocating the garage to the Bridgman’s View Galleria and Garage (north parcel), we have reduced the height of the base of the Bridgman’s View Tower to 80’, consistent with the request by NLNA Zoning Committee. This lower base creates a more transparent, better-scaled, pedestrian-friendly condition including a significantly improved architectural transition for the tower and its relationship to the base and pedestrian promenade.
The Bridgman’s View Tower and Bridgman’s View Galleria and Garage project will consist of a 13,000 s.f. park and an 8,850 s.f. galleria which represent 21,850 s.f., or 19.8%, of dedicated open space at ground level, as well as 21,000 s.f. of green roof and an outdoor pool located on the garage roof. The Client and Design Team will work with NLNA throughout the design and construction phase of the project. Close |
