Bridgman’s View Tower
Northern Liberties, Philadelphia
11 May 2006
2/4

Response to Northern Liberties Neighbors Association (NLNA) input dated 11 April 2006.

1. Project’s fit into Neighborhood Plan

The design approach is for the Bridgman’s View Tower and Bridgman’s View Galleria and Garage to be a responsive and sensitive neighbor to Northern Liberties by adopting the sound planning principles of NLNA’s Neighborhood Plan. Bridgman’s View Tower will fulfill the following goals:

  • BVT will be a LEED certified structure.
  • BVT will have a landscaped park for café/dining and passive recreation.
  • The design team’s recommendation is for the City’s extension of landscaping of the median and adjoining sidewalks of Delaware Avenue, as well as development of a promenade     along the Delaware River’s bank.
  • BVT will not be a gated project; on the contrary, the community will be welcomed to its park, galleria and retail.
  • BVT will have a narrow profile massing for improved community views toward the waterfront.
